About
Despite the name, Woodstock Oasis is a Sullivan County shop at 187 Kingston Avenue in Wurtsboro — roughly 45 minutes south of the actual Woodstock, tucked under the Shawangunk Ridge on the Route 209 corridor known for glider flights out of Wurtsboro Airport and the old D&H Canal path. Owner Mark Moore opened the building in 1994, on the 25th anniversary of the festival, and ran it for years as a pizza, deli, and convenience store stocked with Woodstock memorabilia before converting the space to an adult-use dispensary. Moore has said he was 197th on the state application list, which added about eight months to the wait before he could open the cannabis side. The Woodstock theme is a carry-over from the original storefront, not a geographic claim.
