Mount Tremper
Emerson Resort & Spa, the World’s Largest Kaleidoscope, and the Phoenicia–Boiceville saddle.
Mount Tremper is the Esopus-side hamlet between Phoenicia and Boiceville best known as the home of the Emerson Resort & Spa — the larger wellness operation in the central Catskills, with a destination spa, three restaurants under one roof, and (because it is impossible to leave out) the World’s Largest Kaleidoscope mounted in a converted silo on the property. The hamlet itself is tiny; the resort and the surrounding state-land trail access do the heavy lifting. A reliable weekend if you want a structured spa-and-trail rhythm rather than building one yourself out of Phoenicia’s scattered pieces.
