Phoenicia is the archetypal Catskills trail-town: one Main Street, Esopus Creek running through it, and some of the busiest trailheads in the park (Slide, Giant Ledge, Panther) within ten minutes. The Phoenicia Diner put the town on the national map, the Phoenicia Playhouse still runs a real season, and weekends pull a steady mix of hikers, tube-floaters, and weekenders. No licensed dispensary in town yet — the nearest is Back Home up in Stone Ridge — but Phoenicia is the hub any trail-weekend routes through.
